To help clinics run smoothly, we ask all patients to arrive 5 minutes before their appointment time. This allows sufficient time to check in and make your way to the waiting area.
We understand that delays can sometimes occur. If you are running late, please contact the practice as soon as possible.
- Up to 5 minutes late: You will usually still be seen.
- More than 5 minutes late: Online/self check-in may no longer be available. Please report to reception.
- 5 to 10 minutes late: we may not be able to see you as planned, as this can delay other patients. However, if our reception team feels there may be exceptional circumstances, such as a young child or someone who appears particularly unwell, they may liaise with the clinician. The clinician will then decide whether it is possible for you to still be seen without significantly delaying other patients..
- More than 10 minutes late: You may be asked to rebook your appointment to minimise disruption to other patients and ensure fairness for everyone attending the clinic.
Our clinicians retain professional discretion and may decide to see a late-arriving patient where this is clinically appropriate, taking into account the patient’s individual circumstances, clinical need, patient safety, and the impact on other patients.
Please note that arriving late may reduce the time available for your consultation.
Our reception team will also endeavour to keep patients informed if clinicians are running behind schedule.
We are committed to supporting patients who may face difficulties attending appointments on time. If you require additional assistance or reasonable adjustments, please speak to a member of our team.
If you can no longer attend your appointment, please cancel it as soon as possible so that it can be offered to another patient.
