Carers Information

A Carer is…

“Someone who looks after or helps to look after a relative, partner, neighbour or friend who has additional needs because of physical or mental illness, ageing, disability or substance misuse. The care given is informal in that it does not form part of a paid contract. Instead, it relies on a sense of responsibility for and commitment to the other, driven by feelings of love, duty and/or concern”.

Are You a Carer?

Let your practice know you are a Carer. We need to know so that you can be offered more flexible appointments, free flu vaccinations, referrals for support if needed, Carers health checks and dedicated staff to help signpost and support you.

Northamptonshire Carers provides information and advice, and all kinds of free services which could help you.  You can either refer yourself or we can do this at the practice with your consent.  Northamptonshire Carers are here to make sure that no matter how complicated your circumstances that you don’t have to care alone.
