Nurse appointments

There are four practice nurses available by appointments daily for the following:

  • Diabetes monitoring
  • Asthma monitoring
  • Coronary heart disease monitoring
  • Family planning advice
  • Health checks
  • Travel advice
  • Smoking cessation advice

Livi

Livi is our online consultation provider.

If you would like an online consultation, you do not need to call your GP practice reception. Once you’ve signed up to the Livi app, you will be able to access Livi online consultations between 6am and 10pm every day.

You can choose to see a GP online the same day or book up to 7 days ahead. Get the Livi app by visiting: www.livi.co.uk/download.

Enhanced access

To improve access for patients unable to attend appointments during normal working hours, Langham Place Surgery is now offering appointments on Wednesday and Thursdays from 7am.

If you would like to cancel an extended access appointment, please call, 01604 263168 which is manned between the times of:

  • Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 5pm
  • Monday to Friday, 6:30pm to 9:30pm

Outside of these times, we do have the facility on this number to leave a voicemail, which will be picked up and actioned.

Your GP enhanced access service is based at Entrance B, Highfield Clinical Care Centre, Cliftonville Road, Northampton NN1 5BD. There is free parking on site. The service is operated by the General Practice Alliance (GPA) on behalf of all GP practices in Northampton.

  • face to face at the surgery

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

Please cancel your appointment as soon as you know you will be unable to attend.

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • If there is a specific doctor, nurse or other healthcare professional you would prefer to respond, we will do everything to try to fulfill your request. However it will depend if the clinician is available
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Home visits

Home visits are screened by a doctor and are made when the doctor feels it is necessary on medical grounds.

You can greatly assist by attending the surgery whenever possible. If you are too ill to come to surgery, please try to phone before 10:30am.

Please give as much detail as possible about the problem so the doctor can judge how urgent the visit is.
