Did Not Attend (DNA) Appointments

Every missed appointment is an appointment that could have been offered to another patient.

If you are unable to attend a booked appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer the appointment to someone else.

Our DNA Policy operates as follows:

  • First missed appointment: Recorded on your medical record.
  • Second missed appointment within 6 months: A warning letter may be issued.
  • Third missed appointment within 12 months: Your registration may be reviewed by the GP Partners.

Repeated failure to attend appointments without cancelling may result in the Practice deciding that it is no longer appropriate to continue your registration and requesting your removal from the Practice list.

We appreciate that there may be exceptional circumstances affecting attendance. If you are experiencing difficulties attending appointments, please contact us so that we can discuss how we may be able to support you.

Please help us reduce wasted NHS appointments by cancelling appointments you no longer need.
